[Caitlyn honestly hadn't thought much of the stone the last few weeks. It stayed at her bedside, with no idea it was keeping her safe. Even as the corruption began, the stone was the last thing from her mind. But she continued to stay safe, protected, when so many others close to her weren't. What was happening?
The only reason she finally noticed anything about it was because she grabbed it for practicing with her new metal manipulation powers. She practiced daily, pushing the limits of her strange new powers, and something about the stone called to her. But before she could even do much, it became obvious that it was doing something. Things were obviously less affected when she had it, which led to her trying to test it out in several areas around town on the corruption.
And now she was getting a strange message from a familiar face about just that stone. The urgency in his voice definitely throws her off guard.]
I shall be happy to explain, but you must keep it with you. On your person. It will afford you a means to stave off that which is spreading amongst the populace here.
[That said, he finally allows himself a moment. His demeanor relaxes, though there is yet a firmness to his gaze even through the charm's holographic recording.]
I noticed, actually-- just recently. The corruption seemed to lessen around me when I had it on me earlier today.
[But by all means, she's very grateful to get this news from him. This means there's hope for a cure against this awful blight.]
Do others know about this? It appeared to only be temporary, but perhaps under certain circumstances, we can find a way to make it's resistance more permanent?
William and I transmitted a recording, but I know not how many have seen it.
As for making improvements to the effects, we shall be testing hypotheses put forth from those who responded. I shall send word when we manage to uncover the key to rebuffing the affliction entirely, if another does not do so first.
