DIRECTED TO: CAITLYN KIRAMMAN LISTED CRIME: TREASON
The Council has selected you for sentencing to atone for the above-listed crime. You are directed to turn yourself in within two (2) hours of receiving this message, or you will be forcibly detained. You are to meet the Council's representative outside of City Hall in order to respond to this summons.
This was not the message Caitlyn was expecting to see, and yet, part of her wondered when it would be her turn. Visiting Rumpitur had delayed her investigations on the Council, and now, here she was, being summoned in front of them.
At least she would finally get an audience with these mysterious leaders.
Caitlyn is nothing if not prompt, and arrives in front of City Halls shortly after her summons. She may disagree with how this Council handles the Chosen, she isn't going to openly defy their orders until they give her a reason.]
(the clock ticks, and it's starting to run late. going home is not an option, because right now, he has given up on having one. he builds, builds, builds, and it's taken - good thing is, that while dazai had all the money in the world, he never really cared about living well, because well, living. period there. he could survive anywhere, anyhow. so, one can easily find him here late hours, and look, it is time to close the office. the papers he has in his hand are thrown to the air, and dazai celebrates with 'yiipeeee', clapping as documents float down like confetti, and next up is to grab his whiskey.
[Since coming back to Aldrip and being faced with the new attitudes of the locals, Caitlyn took this as a sign to get back to asking around about the Council. While people weren't so rude and standoffish as before, it still didn't get her anywhere. Questions went in circles and she got no real answers. Unsurprising, since it's been impossible to get a real answer out of the locals about anything.
As she expected, she wasn't going to learn anything new until she spoke to the Council herself. And how she was going to manage that, she had no idea.
She had met with Akechi and Dazai a few times now, and had definitely enjoyed working with them. It was refreshing to have like minds to bounce ideas off of. Back home, her ideas were always shut down, though it was because Marcus was working for Silco and didn't want her meddling. All the same, it was a nice change of pace.
She figured she would update them on what she had learned-- which was nothing, still, but she thought they might like to know the locals were being nicer. It was late, so she wasn't sure if either of them would even be there to talk to, and was prepared to leave a note with her updates, but her timing couldn't have been more perfect.
She walked into the doorway of Dazai's office just in time for the confetti of papers, blinking in surprise at the action.]
[ The video opens to Mitama, though just like in her recent post, she's wearing her "disguise". She's here on an important business, after all. ]
Ho, ho, ho! Thank you for joining our Secret Santa event~ It's time to find out what ─ or rather who ─ your assignment as Santa's Little Helper for this year is! Drumroll, please...
[ She makes a pause for a dramatic effect, her hand slipping into a Santa hat she's holding and pulling out a small piece of paper with a name on it. ]
It's none other than... Ragna the Bloodedge, the grumpy jerk who surely (?) hides a heart of gold!
Remember, you should present your assignee with a gift of your choice until December 25th! Good luck, and remember: your main task is to spread joy, happiness and the spirit of Christmas cheer!
[Caitlyn didn't expect to find the small animated doll, and blinks in surprise. She knew about the Secret Santa, of course, but she-- for obvious reasons-- didn't know when or what to expect in return.
When the doll offers the note to her, she crouches down next to it so she was closer to it's level, holding out her hand to take the note.]
Thank you.
[She gives the doll a smile, unsure if it had any sort of consciousness or if it was just that-- a doll. She eventually turned her attention back to the note and finally opened it to read what was written on the inside.]
soooo i've been voluntold to mandatory overtime at lupin. you should steer clear too, there's a lot of freaks hanging around here with the marks and shit.
[. . . she's one of the freaks, but she doesn't want to admit it just yet.]
[Caitlyn has been around Vi enough by now that she sees through her. It's been obvious that Vi has been acting off, and now she's trying to put distance between them? Caitlyn isn't fragile, but they've been through a lot of shit here, so she gets Vi wanting to protect her, but this doesn't seem like just being overprotective.]
Last time? You mean when you were possessed, before I got here, don't you?
[She was afraid this was similar to before, but she hadn't witnessed it the first time around. Only heard stories second hand.]
( for several hours, jinx has been on caitlyn's trial -- observing her doing her boring activities, and speaking whoever comes across her path. it's a little irritating to see her conversing with the same people as her, although, it's not as if this continent is that large. it's no runeterra, that's for sure. but having the enforcer chatting amongst with others can be very dangerous, she can skew their opinions about her and silco, and make their lives extremely complicated. what works in their favor is that silco hasn't done anything besides giving people work and she, well... no one has died yet so she's in the clear with that.
but what's not in the clear is the stunt she and her sister pulled when they brought silco in for sentencing. it's a dirty trick and maybe she would have turned a blind eye abut it if her father didn't receive a shiner in the process. and that's where she draws the line. jinx assumed they all had this unspoken agreement -- they can talk shit all day as long as no one lays a finger on anyone. and jinx could have beaten caitlyn to a pulp countless times, but she held back. for vi. and now seeing that they couldn't do the same, well... the unvoiced peace treaty broken. so on the roof, the twin-braided girl hums merrily as she follows the woman down below, fiddling in her trench coat pockets for bullets to reload her pistol. )
[Caitlyn has honestly been on edge since she completed her sentencing. She tried her best to be as civil with Silco as possible, but of course, he wouldn't come easy. Vi giving him a black eye made the whole mess even worse, but at least she didn't have to face the wrath of the Council for failing.
But she honestly wondered if their wrath would've been better than the wrath she knew would be coming her way from Silco and Jinx.
She was trying to keep tabs on them, but with the corruption spreading throughout the city, there were more pressing things. And Jinx was slippery. Thanks to Shimmer, she was too quick for Caitlyn to track sometimes.
Unfortunately, her birthday was one of those days.
While she went into the day with no expectations, she was still a little let down. Vi was being a little distant-- not something super uncommon, she had her moments, but she was definitely spending more time away from their home together. Which was fine. Totally fine. It didn't bother her at all, especially after baring her heart out thanks to the tricks of this place. It was all good. Yep.
Obviously, her head wasn't in the right place as she exited home and made her way through the town. Normally she'd be on a higher alert, taking in her surroundings in great detail, just in case. It was definitely going to make her an easy target for the person she had no idea was following her high above.]
[Caitlyn honestly hadn't thought much of the stone the last few weeks. It stayed at her bedside, with no idea it was keeping her safe. Even as the corruption began, the stone was the last thing from her mind. But she continued to stay safe, protected, when so many others close to her weren't. What was happening?
The only reason she finally noticed anything about it was because she grabbed it for practicing with her new metal manipulation powers. She practiced daily, pushing the limits of her strange new powers, and something about the stone called to her. But before she could even do much, it became obvious that it was doing something. Things were obviously less affected when she had it, which led to her trying to test it out in several areas around town on the corruption.
And now she was getting a strange message from a familiar face about just that stone. The urgency in his voice definitely throws her off guard.]
[!!! Caitlyn has no idea who it is that's reached out to her, but she's always excited to hear from people interested in her detective agency.]
This is she. It's actually already established! Or. It was. Since our memories were messed with and Aldrip changed, I'm still getting everything reorganized. Can I help you with something?
[does this person need something looked into? That's her first thought. But if they were looking into doing the job with her, with the size of Aldrip now, someone to help with jobs would be amazing as she gets her business restarted.]
[Honestly, Caitlyn is unsure of what to do. Jinx had already reached out to her, upset about Vi and Silco, so she knows Jinx is ignoring the two of them. But why reach out to her? Jinx hates her? Albeit, she hates Jerry and the Council more, but still.
She's going against every bit of self preservation she has by even considering going, but she's.. honestly curious. And she knows Vi is worried, so at the very least, she can update Vi on how Jinx is.
So here she is, approaching the bakery with caution. Should she go inside? Jinx didn't exactly specify if they were meeting inside or outside, so she'll linger just outside the door until she's sure if Jinx is already inside or not.]
She had honestly been meaning to figure out what she needed to do to handle this new Jinx situation. Jinx wasn't wrong, of course. She did seek her out. But she was also possessed by a crazy alien infection that made her unusually aggressive. Caitlyn was finally starting to make her peace with Jinx before this. She wouldn't intentionally start something between them, and yet, here they were.
She was so tired, and not just because she was recovering from being poisoned.]
I've been meaning to reach out to you, Jinx. I want to apologize. I know I wasn't myself, but you're right, I did seek you out. While I've been doing my best to keep the peace between us, for the sake of Vi, I have harbored resentment towards you-- something I've been trying to work through. My mother was on the Council-- the Council that's most likely dead, because of you. I've hated you for this, but I also know it's not entirely your fault. You and others were pushed into the position of violence because of the Council. Because people like my mother stood by and did nothing but profit off Zaun's suffering. The system has been wrong for a long time. It needs to change, but that doesn't mean I agree with how you and Silco went about it. It's going to bring war between our people. A cycle of endless violence and death, for both sides.
I admit, it's taken me a long time to be more at peace with all of this, but I'm trying. Because I don't think you're all bad, either. I've seen the love that you and Vi share. That you and *Silco* share. I think the world set you up failure, and you've been doing what you can to have some semblance of control. And I'm sorry. That Piltover failed you. That the Council failed you. That *I* failed you.
I don't think publicly posting will have the effect you desire. Everyone did things out of character and against their moral codes that they regret, but I've been open and honest with Vi, if that counts for anything.
[okay, fine. Vi had finally been talked into wearing a yukata, though not one quite as fancy as some of the others that they'd seen so far. simple. easier to move in. that's what she wanted, to hell with everything else.
she's used her food vouchers on mostly food on a stick -- mostly meats and things like that. so she could carry them around while she was wandering.
... and absolutely not is she going to get into the dance, but she is watching. finished stick in one hand and a mug of what's probably alcohol in the other.]
People have way too much energy for this sort of thing... right, Cupcake?
[Honestly, Caitlyn really didn't expect to be able to get Vi to dress in the customary dress. She's pleasantly surprised that it really wasn't that hard to talk her into it. Caitlyn's in her own yukata, feeling more surreal than anything.
She had only been to Ionia a few times. The Kiramman family had trade routes there, and her father had taken her for a few of the culturally significant festivals to make sure she knew more about his side of her family. While Piltover would always be her home, Ionia was still a part of her, and this Obon Festival? While it wasn't exactly like the festivals she knew of, it still felt... familiar. More in line with traditions she actually knew.
It was pretty weird, but it was nice, too. Especially since everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, including Vi. Give her food and alcohol and she would always be happy.]
What, the dancing? [She's sticking with tea for now, partially because she's wanting to enjoy the unique tastes they have to offer specifically for this festival.]
[ glitching and all, two enforcers enter the establishment somewhat nonchalantly. unlike during their patrolling and seeking for the criminal, they know they are arriving at a business where they can shed off their authoritative demeanor. still, they have work to do and with caitlyn being their co-worker, they still need to behave accordingly. ]
[Imagine Caitlyn's confusion when she exited her office at the sound of someone entering her business, just to find two Enforcers standing in her waiting area.
She blinks in confusion, mostly because there are two Enforcers standing in her waiting area, and she has no idea what is going on. There's been plenty of glitches in Aldrip lately, but this is something completely new. Best she figured it out, sooner rather than later. She steps closer, clearing her throat to get their attention.]
[ The video opens to Mitama, though just like in her recent post, she's wearing her "Santa disguise". She's here on an important business, after all. ]
Ho, ho, ho! Thank you for joining our Secret Santa event~ It's time to find out what ─ or rather who ─ your assignment as Santa's Little Helper for this year is! Drumroll, please...

It's none other than... Ryoji Mochizuki, the deadly adorable boy next door!
Remember, you should present your assignee with a gift of your choice until December 25th! Good luck, and remember: your main task is to spread joy, happiness and the spirit of Christmas cheer!
some time this week, caitlyn will find a CUTELY WRAPPED BOX (some classy royal blue with silver snowflakes printed) delivered to her doorstep ... along with a card written in surprisingly neat cursive.]
Dear Caitlyn, I am so thankful that you are part of my life and that we get to spend this holiday season together. I hope your Yuletide is as happy as the happiness you bring me! :-) -Vash
[ inside the box, she will find a fancy af shotgun cleaning kit and scarf!
[It's early in the 25th morning. Most people are still sleeping and the sun is only about to send its first rays to break the darkness of the night sky. But then there is a sudden knock on a door. Huh?! Who could it be! Whenever Caitlyn gets to the door, be it immediately or hours late they will find a christmas wreath with white roses placed on their doorstep. There might even be snowy (or wet!) small hoof marks leading away from the present. Hm. I wonder, who indeed did deliver this?
On the wreath there is a letter that reads:]
Greetings my fellow Chosen.
Thank you for your support and help with strengthening our community by partaking in the training camp during September. I shall look forward to our continued collaboration in future. In the meantime I wish you the most pleasant and peaceful Christmas. There will be a feast held at the Inn’s tavern for the next 12 days and I welcome you to enjoy it for free. There will be warm food, treats and homemade mead and wine at your disposal.
Merry Christmas.
Signed, Richard Plantagenet, The Duke of Gloucester
[ooc: There will be no ic mingle log for the feast. But feel free to either handwave or thread it out!]
[whenever caitlyn (and vi) get home from wherever, there will be a small box resting at the step of their front door. it definitely looks like a birthday present with the way it's gift wrapped. and in case it isn't clear that it's for caitlyn, her name will be on the tag.
inside will contain: something pretty, and another pretty. are these caitlyn's style? jinx isn't necessarily sure, but it's the thought that counts, maybe? there's also a jar of hot cocoa mix. there is a small note that simply reads:
hey cupcake. im going to need you to stay away from our place for 10 minutes. i got runs, and we're almost out of toilet paper, think you can grab some on your way out?
[Caitlyn can't really explain it, but she got weird vibes from the moment she got "Vi's" message. Maybe it was the fact that she knew Vi's routine almost to the T, and Vi was usually at the gym right about now. Vi also hadn't mentioned anything about her stomach bothering her that morning, and she knew precisely how much toilet paper they had stocked away, because it was usually her buying it.
But more than anything, she follows the network quite closely, has seen that Jinx had posted a very informative message today, and how the conversation between her and Vi had went.
Hmm.
She definitely has an idea of what's happening here, so she might as well play along and see what Jinx is up to.]
Oh no! I told you it was probably a bad idea to eat those leftovers. So much for that stomach of steel, hm?
There's some ginger tea in the cupboard that should help ease the stomach ache. If I'm stopping by the store, do you need anything else? I'll be leaving soon, so let me know. Love you too. xoxo
[Caitlyn could be way more embarrassing on Vi's behalf, but she doesn't want to push it too much. Her and Jinx are only just starting to be decently civil with each other, after all.]
[You wake up in a courtroom. You’re not really sure how you got here, just that you’re here. There’s Jerry, sitting at the judges box. For some he might be new, and others he might be familiar or semi-familiar. He scrutinizes you, and then motions to the jury box. There’s a plaque that’s sitting on the outside that says “Council”, but there’s no one sitting there. Everything looks clean and maintained, but there’s no one in the courtroom but you and Jerry.
Weird.]
You are charged with accessory to violence.
[There’s something about his expression that makes you think that he might’ve already made up his mind…]
The Council has found you Guilty of this. In order to repent and further your rehabilitation, you have been tasked to find out what the actual meaning of justice is. Find three people that will give you insight in this. If there is no action taken, there will be consequences.
[You wake up back in your bed. You remember everything – Jerry, the jury box, the words he spoke to you. Maybe you remember the words he spoke more vividly than anything else.
However you decide to proceed… there will be consequences.]
[ooc: you have until March 9th to submit your Sentencing HERE Even if your character doesn’t proceed with the Sentencing, you must comment on the NPC inbox for your penalty.
Also, there are effects for ignoring this Sentencing. The longer Caitlyn goes without completing her Sentencing, the more she'll see things in black and white in terms of crime and justice. She may even take extreme needs to intervene in instances of perceived crime. If you have any questions about Sentencing, please direct it to the Mod Contact post.]
[It's fairly early in the morning when there comes a visitor to the agency's door; Altius would have knocked if he'd needed, but it turns out that there's a bell that rings to announce his arrival once he steps through.
The feeling of dread that's been getting stronger since the start of the month would have driven him to seek out some way to act by itself, even without his magical senses giving him the certainty of a powerful cause behind it. As always, he finds information to be one of the most important tools he could possibly have—thus why he's here now, looking to acquire the services of a fellow seeker of information.
With that in mind, he's still willing to wait patiently for the owner of this particular business, hands in his pockets as he glances about the waiting room. He's specifically made the time for it in his busy schedule.]
[Caitlyn's Detective Agency really isn't that busy. She takes cases as she feels like, but most of her energy is devoted to gathering information on Aldrip and this strange world her and the rest of the Chosen have found themselves in.
That's exactly what she's doing that morning, sipping her mug of tea as she skims the notes she's examined hundreds of times. She only pauses when she hears the chime of the bell, and looks from her office through the barely cracked door, to see a figure in the lobby.
Her brows raise as her singular blue eyes takes in the visitor for a moment, before she finally sets her mug down, moving towards the office door and opening it the rest of the way. Her gaze lands on a familiar face, and she smiles sheepishly to the man that saw her at one of her more vulnerable moments.]

That you and *Silco* share. I think the world set you up failure, and you've been doing what you can to have some semblance of control. And I'm sorry. That Piltover failed you. That the Council failed you. That *I* failed you.
I don't think publicly posting will have the effect you desire. Everyone did things out of character and against their moral codes that they regret, but I've been open and honest with Vi, if that counts for anything.

festival
she's used her food vouchers on mostly food on a stick -- mostly meats and things like that. so she could carry them around while she was wandering.
... and absolutely not is she going to get into the dance, but she is watching. finished stick in one hand and a mug of what's probably alcohol in the other.]
People have way too much energy for this sort of thing... right, Cupcake?
[because of course Caitlyn was with her.]

I think it looks fun.

Can I help you, gentlemen?

Ryoji Mochizuki, the deadly adorable boy next door!
Remember, you should present your assignee with a gift of your choice until December 25th! Good luck, and remember: your main task is to spread joy, happiness and the spirit of Christmas cheer!
Miss Santa Coordinator, out!
holiday present....
some time this week, caitlyn will find a CUTELY WRAPPED BOX (some classy royal blue with silver snowflakes printed) delivered to her doorstep ... along with a card written in surprisingly neat cursive.]
I am so thankful that you are part of my life and that we get to spend this holiday season together.
I hope your Yuletide is as happy as the happiness you bring me! :-)
-Vash
[ inside the box, she will find a fancy af shotgun cleaning kit and scarf!
enjoy!!!! ]
IC delivery
On the wreath there is a letter that reads:]
Greetings my fellow Chosen.
Thank you for your support and help with strengthening our community by partaking in the training camp during September. I shall look forward to our continued collaboration in future. In the meantime I wish you the most pleasant and peaceful Christmas. There will be a feast held at the Inn’s tavern for the next 12 days and I welcome you to enjoy it for free. There will be warm food, treats and homemade mead and wine at your disposal.
Merry Christmas.
Signed,
Richard Plantagenet, The Duke of Gloucester
[ooc: There will be no ic mingle log for the feast. But feel free to either handwave or thread it out!]
birthday gift(s)
inside will contain: something pretty, and another pretty. are these caitlyn's style? jinx isn't necessarily sure, but it's the thought that counts, maybe? there's also a jar of hot cocoa mix. there is a small note that simply reads:
"shut up. - J."]

love you, babe.

SENTENCING
If you have any questions about Sentencing, please direct it to the Mod Contact post.]
early march; kiramman detective agency
The feeling of dread that's been getting stronger since the start of the month would have driven him to seek out some way to act by itself, even without his magical senses giving him the certainty of a powerful cause behind it. As always, he finds information to be one of the most important tools he could possibly have—thus why he's here now, looking to acquire the services of a fellow seeker of information.
With that in mind, he's still willing to wait patiently for the owner of this particular business, hands in his pockets as he glances about the waiting room. He's specifically made the time for it in his busy schedule.]

Altius, yes? To what do I owe this pleasure?
