[Since coming back to Aldrip and being faced with the new attitudes of the locals, Caitlyn took this as a sign to get back to asking around about the Council. While people weren't so rude and standoffish as before, it still didn't get her anywhere. Questions went in circles and she got no real answers. Unsurprising, since it's been impossible to get a real answer out of the locals about anything.
As she expected, she wasn't going to learn anything new until she spoke to the Council herself. And how she was going to manage that, she had no idea.
She had met with Akechi and Dazai a few times now, and had definitely enjoyed working with them. It was refreshing to have like minds to bounce ideas off of. Back home, her ideas were always shut down, though it was because Marcus was working for Silco and didn't want her meddling. All the same, it was a nice change of pace.
She figured she would update them on what she had learned-- which was nothing, still, but she thought they might like to know the locals were being nicer. It was late, so she wasn't sure if either of them would even be there to talk to, and was prepared to leave a note with her updates, but her timing couldn't have been more perfect.
She walked into the doorway of Dazai's office just in time for the confetti of papers, blinking in surprise at the action.]
Such a pretty girl hardly could ever be an interruption! Shall we drink together? You can take the glass!
(of course, he only has one - but drinking from the bottle is also familiar enough that he doesn't mind at all. alcohol is a passing comfort, one that takes too much in amount to mean anything, anyway. )
[Dazai is enough like Vi in his sudden actions that it still catches her off guard, so forgive her for freezing for a moment as she processes everything. She didn't plan on lingering, and Vi would be expecting her soon, but.. ]
I suppose a glass couldn't hurt.
[Except she has no idea what he's drinking or what she's getting herself into. She should know better, but there's a part of her that's excited to be welcomed by Dazai and Akechi in their group of investigators.]
(if cait was more--, well, stuck up, crazy about her schedule, violent, and intolerant -- and blonde! she could be a good kunikida? a random thought that bears no importance, but he smiles at the fact she will be staying. he doesn't have anywhere to go anymore, anyway.
he will pour, but drink from the bottle for himself.)
Aha! How wonderful. So, Caitlyn, Caitlyn...! How have you been! How's our girl Violet! Girl talk!
We've been as well as could be. I'm not sure if you ever met her, but our other roommate -- Mizuki-- disappeared recently. She had been unconscious for a few months with no reasonable explanation, but even so, we were hoping she would wake up. She was one of Vi's first friends here, so I know it's been hard on her.
[Even if Vi isn't one for the mushy gushy, Cait sees right through her.]
