I find that hard to believe. Being a messenger means you're privy to quite a lot, actually. You've been the go-between with all the Chosen being sentenced so far. Which brings me to another question. Why now? Some Chosen have been here almost a year, and this only started, what? Two months ago? Why wait so long? If we're supposed to be here for rehabilitation, one would think these punishments would have started sooner, rather than later.
[She's intentionally calling it punishments, because that what it seems. If this place was truly about making people repent and get better, they wouldn't be charging people with lies or insignificant things.]
[He said it, not her. Sorry Jerry, you picked a bad one to sentence this time. She may have come willingly but that doesn't mean she isn't going to be a pain in the ass.]
[Caitlyn finds it really hard not to roll her eyes. It's frustrating, getting nothing from him, but it's honestly the trend. None of the locals are very forthcoming about anything, so why would Jerry or the Council?]
You know, you'd probably have an easier time with the Chosen if you just communicated with us. But fine. Let's get this over with.
[Maybe she can get something out of the Council? Or maybe they'll be just as bad as Jerry, if not worse.]
Which is ridiculous. The Council wants us to fall in line, but refuses to explain anything? It won't work. The Chosen will continue to fight back.
[And it's making her feel crazy that she's having to explain it!! But she follows Jerry all the same, making a point to take in everything she can about the hallway and the door he leads her to.

[. . . . .]
There were obstacles in the way of executing the plan. But the Council is back on track now.

[he's going to open the door to let her in to City Hall, now...]

[the walk to the room they're wanting to go into isn't far, and he opens it and motions for her to walk in.]
