[There should be absolutely no reason why Jinx doesn't make her mark. Caitlyn is completely unaware of the predator hunting her from high above. She's distracted, not paying her surroundings as much attention as she would have any other day. It's the perfect storm for the perfect hit.
Except Jinx was missing one crucial detail, and that was Caitlyn's new found abilities.
She wasn't necessarily hiding it, of course. She made a public post and mentioned it briefly, but she also wasn't making a big show out of it. Magic was strange and unknown to her, so of course she was keeping it close to her chest, even after the progress she had made in learning to control it.
When Jinx lets loose the trigger and the bullet shoots towards Caitlyn, the sensation she's growing to find familiar hits her. She senses the bullet in the air, and while it's too fast for her to stop completely, the combination of turning her body and pushing her powers against it makes the damage way less severe that it would've been otherwise. She still lets out a gasp as pain tears through her arm, stumbling to lean against a near by wall as she puts her hand over the new wound. It was partly to gather herself, but also to dodge out of whatever line of sight she had just been in.
Jinx. It had to be Jinx. No one else in Aldrip would have a reason or grudge enough to try something like this.
When her adrenaline settled she would investigate the bullet lodged in the ground to confirm, but even without seeing it, she knew. She was just lucky she was able to intercept it before it had cause a more serious injury.]
