[the person who'd sold them the yukatas had looked at Vi strangely when she said she'd preferred the mens' one. it seemed to her at the time that it was more comfortable and less form-fitting, and she was right. even as Caitlyn looked beautiful (as always) in hers... Vi would leave the more restricting fabric to her.
she shakes her head.]
You would think so. But you won't catch me doing that sort of stuff this time.
[Even if the shopkeeper gave her a weird look, Caitlyn thought the one Vi picked out suited her perfectly. She always tended to lean towards a more masculine sense of taste when it came to clothing anyway, and it never steered her wrong. Vi looked good in anything she wore, in her opinion, but something brightly colored or floral definitely wouldn't suit her.]
Since when do you care what others think of you?
[It's just a tease, as she nudged Vi's arm. It's not imperative to her that they dance, she just wants to give Vi a hard time for drawing a line about it.]
I don't. I just want you to have use of your feet tomorrow.
[she'll definitely step on them. she wasn't even sure how she would at this sort of dancing, but she'd find a way.]
There's a few people that I overheard talking about how it feels like home to them. So... I guess it's not exactly some bullshit festival the locals threw this time.
[Caitlyn can't help but laugh. She had danced with her before, and her feet had definitely been in danger.]
As coordinated as you are to box, you'd think you'd be able to get your feet to get with the program.
[More teases. She really doesn't care, one way or another. Just spending time with Vi was enough for her.]
It almost reminds me of one of the Ionian festivals my father took me to years ago. They use lanterns a lot like these in most of their celebrations, too.
