DIRECTED TO: CAITLYN KIRAMMAN LISTED CRIME: TREASON
The Council has selected you for sentencing to atone for the above-listed crime. You are directed to turn yourself in within two (2) hours of receiving this message, or you will be forcibly detained. You are to meet the Council's representative outside of City Hall in order to respond to this summons.
This was not the message Caitlyn was expecting to see, and yet, part of her wondered when it would be her turn. Visiting Rumpitur had delayed her investigations on the Council, and now, here she was, being summoned in front of them.
At least she would finally get an audience with these mysterious leaders.
Caitlyn is nothing if not prompt, and arrives in front of City Halls shortly after her summons. She may disagree with how this Council handles the Chosen, she isn't going to openly defy their orders until they give her a reason.]
[There's the smallest bit of relaxation when Caitlyn comes when she's called. He nods to her in a sort of greeting, and then motions for her to follow.]
[Caitlyn's prepared to follow, and she will, but she holds up one finger, in a motion to have him wait one second.]
Before we go in, I have a question. A few questions, actually.
[You better believe she's pulling out a notepad that has plenty of notes and scribbles all over the page she turns to.]
Obviously, you've summoned me here for sentencing. I feel it's only fair that I know a little of what I'm about to get myself into. If the Council is deciding who gets chosen for sentencing, are you all responsible for us being brought into Aldrip as well? Is there a set of rules or laws that you have that you abide by when choosing us? Because our chosen "crimes" all seem very random, and not always true. I, for one, am still adamantly against the accusations made against me. It makes me think there's a flaw in your system, or that you don't actually care about the system and don't care who you punish.
I find that hard to believe. Being a messenger means you're privy to quite a lot, actually. You've been the go-between with all the Chosen being sentenced so far. Which brings me to another question. Why now? Some Chosen have been here almost a year, and this only started, what? Two months ago? Why wait so long? If we're supposed to be here for rehabilitation, one would think these punishments would have started sooner, rather than later.
[She's intentionally calling it punishments, because that what it seems. If this place was truly about making people repent and get better, they wouldn't be charging people with lies or insignificant things.]
[He said it, not her. Sorry Jerry, you picked a bad one to sentence this time. She may have come willingly but that doesn't mean she isn't going to be a pain in the ass.]
[Caitlyn finds it really hard not to roll her eyes. It's frustrating, getting nothing from him, but it's honestly the trend. None of the locals are very forthcoming about anything, so why would Jerry or the Council?]
You know, you'd probably have an easier time with the Chosen if you just communicated with us. But fine. Let's get this over with.
[Maybe she can get something out of the Council? Or maybe they'll be just as bad as Jerry, if not worse.]
Which is ridiculous. The Council wants us to fall in line, but refuses to explain anything? It won't work. The Chosen will continue to fight back.
[And it's making her feel crazy that she's having to explain it!! But she follows Jerry all the same, making a point to take in everything she can about the hallway and the door he leads her to.

This was not the message Caitlyn was expecting to see, and yet, part of her wondered when it would be her turn. Visiting Rumpitur had delayed her investigations on the Council, and now, here she was, being summoned in front of them.
At least she would finally get an audience with these mysterious leaders.

I'm not privy to the inner workings of the Council. I'm just a messenger here to do their work.
[at least he'll stop, even though he's frowning a bit.]

There were obstacles in the way of executing the plan. But the Council is back on track now.
